Kakimori’s Potari inks are richly colored pigment inks inspired by Japanese onomatopoeia and wordplay. Each color is associated with a familiar sound or feeling. Karari is a cerulean blue. Kakimori describes it as “fresh like an endlessly clear sky. Karari describes a bright, cloudless day. With this blue in hand, a break in the clouds is never far away.”
These gorgeous inks come in asymmetrical glass bottles designed to resemble potari, or falling drops. The bottles have a wide, stable base and a wide neck that makes it easy to fill your pen, and the pigmented inks are water- and fade-resistant. They’re thick enough to use with dip pens and calligraphy brushes, and smooth enough to work in a fountain pen. Note that pigmented inks may clog your fountain pen if they’re left to dry out inside.
